Dermal Fillers

As we age, we naturally lose facial subcutaneous fat which contributes to volume loss.  Additionally, the mid face begins to descend which contributes to the nasolabial folds (folds that extend from the side of the nose to the corners of the mouth) and marionette lines (lines that extend from the corners of the mouth down to the chin area) becoming more prominent.   Dermal or soft tissue fillers are used to fill lines and restore volume.  These products work  differently from botulinum toxin (Botox) which is designed to treat dynamic wrinkles (those caused by repeated muscle movement).

The mainstay of soft tissue fillers for facial volume loss and wrinkles are products that contain Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic acids are “polysaccharides” or sugars, which occur naturally in the skin and joints. They help to fill or plump the skin by attracting water to them. We offer several Hyaluronic acid fillers and have carefully selected these products based on safety and effectiveness.  Your provider will determine the most appropriate product to use based on the area being treated, depth of wrinkle, and amount of volume loss.  Hyaluronic acid fillers typically last between 6 months to 2 years and are often used in combination with Botox.

Faces aren’t frozen, they’re dynamic. Your filler should be too.
The RHA® Collection is designed to adapt to the dynamic demands of the face, for a look that’s beautiful at rest and flawless in motion. A design that more closely mimics natural HA in the skin adapting seamlessly to achieve a natural look. Now available at Davie Dermatology

RHA 2

RHA fillers are made to adapt to facial movements, not prevent them. Their natural materials closely align with your skin’s HA allowing the fillers to give structural support and soften your facial features. RHA is the first and only FDA-approved resilient hyaluronic acid filler designed to accompany the demands of a constantly moving face. Created using a gentle manufacturing process with reduced cross linking allowing gel to move dynamically and accompany – rather than endure – the harsh strains of facial dynamics providing durable outcomes. The unique combination of stretch and strength makes it ideal for correcting dynamic wrinkles and folds.

RHA 2 is best used to treat moderate dynamic wrinkles and lines usually found around lips and mouth.

RHA® 2 and RHA® 3 are indicated for injection into the mid-to-deep dermis for the correction of moderate to severe dynamic facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds (NLF), in adults aged 22 years or older.
